RADIO SCAM ALERT: WEBSITES PFISHING THE FCC


It appears as if someone or a group of someone's is trying to scam the Federal Communications Commission out of some money. According to news reports attorney Harry Cole told Radio World that his firm advised the commission last week that if found two fake Internet sites that are attempting to misdirect those licensees trying to pay their regulatory fees online. The fees in question are due on September 25th. In a press release the FCC said that the phony websites are reportedly trying to collect financial information. The agency is urging regulatory fee payers to make any Internet payments directly through the commission’s authorized Internet site. It also says that its Inspector General is looking into the matter. (RW)
